This is why I don’t mind spending the summer in my own city; there’s always something fun to do or see. On Saturday the streetball, on Sunday we had a weight lifting session at the same place as the streetball.
But I stumbled upon this scene on the Grotekerkplein; some guys playing soccer on the artificial grass with a dance floor in the background.

Right, tomorrow is my 40th birthday which I thought would be a nice day for a new big(-ish) project.
So I’m starting a so called ‘365 days project‘: I’ll be making and publishing one photograph each day for at least one year.
Why? Well, sometimes I feel I do not do enough with my photography other than making the occasional photo and putting it on Facebook or any other social media. Doing this project forces me to put a little/lot more effort into it which I think will be good for me.
A couple of rules I set for myself:
– one photo each day;
– photo may be max two days old;
– no only posting a photo, text too;
– no snapshotting, decent photography.

Q: Who are you?
A: Erwin, 40 years old and I live in Rotterdam. Runner, amateur photographer and enjoyer of life.
Q: Why in English?
A: Well, a couple of reasons:
1. my photos get posted on a couple of social media that are primarily English.
2. more people speak English than Dutch.
3. It is good for my own English proficiency, I’m getting rusty!
Q: What gear do you use?
A: Well, that kinda depends on the situation, but mainly my Fujifilm X-Pro1, my Sony RX-100 (mark 1) and my smartphone. Possibly a little processing in Adobe Lightroom or Google Snapseed.
Q: What is your favorite subject to photograph?
A: Being a cityperson I am very fond of streetphotography and urban stuff. But I wonder of to landscapes and sportsphotography as well sometimes or do the occasional long exposure.
Q: This website of yours, how and what?
A: WordPress with a heavily modified version of Less by Jared Erickson.

The reconstruction of the central trainstation in Rotterdam took 10 years; starting in 2004, finishing in 2014. Obviously.
One of the cooler features in my opinion is the clock on the outside. It is the original clock that was also on the old building. I think the letters are original as well, but they’ve been refitted with LED lights.
